'Inception' And 'Harry Potter' Battle It Out In The 2011 MTV Movie Awards Nominations

Don't let "Inception" mess with your head — the 2011 MTV Movie Awards are not a dream. They're very real, coming at you live on June 5 at 9 PM EST, and we've got the nominations to prove it.

The nominees for this year's Movie Awards have been announced, and voting officially kicks off today! Yes, many of the usual suspects like "The Twilight Saga" and "Harry Potter" are well-represented in this year's pool of nominees, but you might be surprised to see which sleeper hits and non-franchise pictures made the final cut as well.
"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" leads the pack with eight nominations, including the coveted Best Kiss and Best Fight awards, but David Slade's entry into the supernatural romance series holds only one more nomination than "Inception's" seven, including Best Movie and Biggest Badass Star for Joseph Gordon-Levitt (who also finds himself nominated for Best Fight, representing that ridiculously awesome zero-gravity hallway battle).
The first half of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" has six nominations to its name, sneaking in some Best Kiss recognition for the surreal smooching that went down between Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson (poor Ron, who was forced to watch the taunting vision of his best friend and his dream gal locking lips—but it was great for everyone else!). And despite some reduced screen time in "Deathly Hallows Part 1," Tom Felton is once again looking to take the Best Villain award home for his menacing portrayal of the conflicted Draco Malfoy.
There's a lot of love for "The Social Network" this year as well; the Facebook movie made friends with five categories including Best Breakout Star for future "Spider-Man" star Andrew Garfield and Best Line From A Movie (hint: the quote is worth roughly one billion dollars). And "Black Swan," Darren Aronofsky's haunting thriller about a ballet dancer's psychotic breakdown, danced its way into four nominations, including Best Movie and Best Female Performance for Natalie Portman.
Tons of other deserving nominees made the final cut as well, from Emma Stone in "Easy A" and Russell Brand in "Get Him to the Greek" to Chloe Moretz in "Kick-Ass" and Mickey Rourke in "Iron Man 2." Check out the full list of nominees, and head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to start voting today!
