Folks, can security check uncover unauthorized part time work whiles on H1. Will this be reported to USCIS? If so will that be a basis for denial for a green card? Any information or precedence?

Overtime is paid only if you are a non-exempt employee - usually means you get paid hourly. If you are an exempt employee, then you are not eligible for overtime. Not sure if this is different in different states, but that is how it works in Ohio.
Same is true here in CA (Only non-exempt employees get overtime).
Again, check with your state agency regards to overtime pay..... or consult a employment attorney...

I got my GC but my wife's application (based on my 485) is still pending. I think at this point I can switch jobs/go to school full time and it won't affect my spouse's case. Just want to double check on this, any thoughts??

Hi. I realized that I made a mistake when filling out the I 485 Part Three:
Processing Information. Specifically, I filled in the I-94 number issued for my H1B as the "Nonimmigration Visa Number", instead of the visa number I got when I was still in F1 Student status.
I called USCIS twice and they informed me that I can make corrections after I get the receipt--I can send in a corrected form, along with a letter explaining the correction, and also a copy of the receipt.
I was wondering whether anyone here had done that before.
I am kicking myself for misunderstanding the form! Please help!

Well, my forms were returned to my attorney because of some filing issue. So instead of my EAD as I was expecting I have to refile. Of course I now have a job offer that I would like to take.
My husband (who is a US citizen) is in school and will be depending on my salary. I dont know if that counts as a big financial loss.
Where can I go to find this out. I think my attorney i doing a less than great job in giving me the proper options to choose from.
Any help would be appreciated.

I think this thread is really good start. I think the inherent problem is not the fact that H1B is temporary and ppl want GC. Basic problem is ppl want the right to be able to work for who they want and they want the same for their spouses. This can be addressed by H1B reform also. But I think it will be an uphill battle because most businesses get captive employees by way of H1B visa and would be the real losers in case of a reform.

No one, I mean no one will support us in a way that can be heard by media and the people in high seats. This is our battle and we must fight it alone. So a question that's worth pondering. If I am on 485/EAD without H1b, does this mean I have the right to work but not the right to stay in the US?
The EAD card only gives us the right to work (as said on the card, cannot be used for entry), and my 485 has been pending for more that 240 days.
Is there any explicit stipulation for the 485 that allows me to be in the US as long as it is not denied?

Ah, the magical E-Verify solution. If we just required it for everything from getting a job to applying for any kind of government benefit and now qualifying for a mortgage, all would be right with America. In the mean time, innocent Americans are still getting caught in non-confirmation hell. Yes, you have stylus input that you can use. Its just like windows form. If stylus is down while move(like mouse move) then you draw on the bitmap or graphic).
The stylus (mouse) events are probably different its been a while sense I developed for it. Draw the bitmap and then draw that to the form.
